Sipping: Desert Door Sotol - Like Tequila’s cooler, wilder cousin.

Desert Door is a premium sotol - a distinct spirit native to the West Texas desert. It's not made from agave, but from the wild-growing Sotol plant (Dasylirion). It drinks like a cousin of tequila or mezcal but has a unique profile all its own. Hand-harvested, slow-roasted, and distilled in Driftwood, TX, it’s truly a spirit born of the desert.

🌵 It’s Not Tequila or Mezcal - Most drinkers don’t know what sotol is - and that’s the hook. It comes from a wild plant native to the Chihuahuan Desert, not agave, giving it its own flavor, history, and ecological identity. It's the spirit of West Texas, distilled.

🤠 Born in Texas, Rooted in the Wild - Desert Door was founded by three Texas military veterans who discovered sotol during a business school project. Instead of just building a brand—they revived a lost tradition. Sotol has been consumed for over 800 years by Indigenous peoples, but Desert Door brought it into modern craft distilling with purpose.

♻️ Wild-Harvested & Sustainable - Unlike agave (which is farmed), the sotol plant grows wild with no irrigation, no fertilizer or pesticides. Desert Door works with conservation groups to sustainably harvest and protect this unique plant and ecosystem. They even created the Wild Spirit Wild Places nonprofit to fund conservation and land stewardship efforts in Texas.

🏜️ Texas in a Bottle - Everything about Desert Door is steeped in place from the rugged bottle design to the earthy, herbal flavor. It’s made in Driftwood, TX, in a beautifully designed desert-modern tasting room. It’s not just a drink, it’s a lifestyle brand celebrating wide open spaces and frontier spirit.
